Kojonup Working's Learning Area
The Kojonup Working Learning Area was opened on May 11th 2005. We are very grateful to the support we have received from Kojonup CWA Branch, The Rio Tinto WA Future Fund, Lotterywest and the West Australian Department of Education and Training, together with considerable voluntary input from local businesses and individuals to prepare the building and equipment for a Community Learning Resource Area in Kojonup. The Community Learning Resource Area is located at the CWA Rooms 129 Albany Highway, Kojonup in Western Australia and the phone number is (08) 9831 0309 or email kojonupworking@westnet.com.au
In 2007 the Learning Area has been handed over to the Year 11s and Years 12s of Kojonup District High School as an annexe where the students can study and develop their skills in a "more adult" environment than was previously available. To date the results of this venture have been spectacular: students working diligently with their learning materials from The School of Distance Education and TAFE and building in work experience for one or two days a weeks with local employers.
Booking the Community Learning Resource Area
The Learning Resource Area currently houses six networked computers with internet access. Each computer runs Windows XP Professional and Microsoft Office Professional. Along with a computer network, the learning resource centre also has a digital projector and screen, white board, a discussion table, folding table and a large meeting table. A fully equipped office can also be booked for visiting professionals. Tea and coffee making facilities are available and we can arrange catering.
During 2007, the Community Learning Resource Area can be booked by trainers or groups for workshops or meetings when the school is not "in sitting", by phone (08) 9831 0309 or email kojonupworking@westnet.com.au There are special rates for local community and collaborators.

The CWA Ladies celebrate the good use of the building!
